The invention relates to a coupling element, in particular for building mechanical model constructs. The element consists of a cubic die 10 which, on the one hand, possesses through openings 12, 14 which extend from each die side to the opposite side and, on the other hand, holes 16 which extend from each corner of the die in the direction towards the diagonally opposite corner. All the holes or openings are arranged in such a pattern that the cubic die 10 as a whole remains symmetrical around all its nine planes of symmetry. Of the openings which pass through from one side of the die to the other, six 12 are threaded and extend from the central point of each side to the central point of the opposite side. Each such threaded opening 12 is surrounded by four smooth holes or channels 14 which are oriented such that the centres of their openings in the sides of the die form the corners of a square which is located in an identical manner to the side in question. The diagonally directed holes 16 are threaded and extend in to the intersection of the adjacent three guide channels 14 and are intended to receive locking screws 25. <IMAGE> |
