PURPOSE: To achieve precise location of a cover layer portion and strong bonding of a shielding layer by positioning the cover layer of preformed laminate comprising the cover layer and the thermoplastic shielding layer in contact with a female cavity portion and by injection the thermoplastic polymer composite in the cavity so as to be fused and solidified with the thermoplastic shielding layer. CONSTITUTION: A mold cavity is formed with a female cavity portion having at least one surface region which corresponds the form of at least one surface region and a male cavity portion. A preformed laminate comprising the cover layer 14 and a normally solid thermoplastic shield layer 16 co-extensive therewith, the shielding layer being made of a material that is compatible with the thermoplastic polymer composite of a substrate layer 15. The at least one preformed laminate 18 is arranged in the area of the female cavity portion, the cover layer 14 contacting the female cavity portion, the thermoplastic polymer composite is injected in a fluid state into the mold cavity to allow it to be bonded and solidified with the thermoplastic shielding layer 16, and the resultant article is removed from the mold cavity. |
