PURPOSE:To assure the good material treatment performance of the hollow yarn type mass-transfer device without allowing of formation of precipitates and deposits by eliminating the channelling and stagnation of a 1st material in a header into which the 1st material flows. CONSTITUTION:The inside surface of the header 16 of an artificial kindey is formed by continuing an approximately tapered part 16T on the side of a port 16A to be adhered and an approximately straight part 16S on the side of a connecting port part 16B in a radial part and is so formed as to have 0.8<=H/D<=1.3,theta<=7 deg., 18 deg.<=phi<=22 deg. where the inside diameter of the port part 16A to be adhered of the header 16 is designated as D, the height from the port part 16B to be adhered of the header 16 to the connecting port part 16A as H, the gradient of the approximately tapered part 16T as theta, and the vertex angle of the approximately straight part 16S as phi. |
