The bearing block comprises an outer bearing race (10) having a groove for receiving a flexible line, and an inner bearing race (12), with a plurality of bearings between the outer and inner races. In order to minimize weight, the inner race (12) is provided with an enlarged opening (36). The inner race (12) is annular in form with a substantially thicker wall section in the fixed loaded region where the line is engaged by the outer race (13), in order to provide maximum strength. <IMAGE>
