Date Jul. 12, 1990.There are provided a new polysilane compound having a weight average molecular weight of 6000 to 200,000, having neither chlorine radical nor other radicals resulted from side reaction, and all the Si radicals of which not having any oxygen, and a process for the production thereof. Said polysilane compound can be utilized in the preparation of various electronic devices, medical devices, etc., thus it is a high molecular substance which has a high industrial value in use. There is also provided an electrophotographic photosensitive member having a light receiving layer containing said polysilane compound.
