PURPOSE: To improve the responding characteristics of a detector by regulating the flow rate of fluid, and controlling the detector characteristics by using its physicochemical characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A valve 14a is switched under the control of processing means 40 responsive to the pressure of a converter 16a and a flow rate signal to regulate the pressure and flow rate of carrier gas from a source 13a. Sample 11 is poured from a pouring port 12 in the regulated pressurized carrier gas, and the combined part is supplied to a column 18. The combination of the gas and sample passing the column 18 is exposed with the temperature profile resultantly generated from the operation of a heating unit 26. Typically, the temperature of the oven 24 is increased stepwise linearly from the minimum level to the maximum level. The sample 11 is mainly separated at the component by the partial pressure difference of the component in fixed phase to moved phase during the temperature change. A detector 30 determines the magnitude of the physicochemical characteristics of the carrier fluid containing the sample eluted from the column 18, and detects the component. |
