T1100 USE OF GLYCINE/NNDA RECEPTOR LIGANDS FOR THE TREATMENT OF DRUG DEPENDENCE AND WITHDRAWAL Compounds capable of interacting with the strychnine-insensitive glycine modulatory site of the Nmethyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor are active in preventing or reducing dependence on dependence-inducing agents such as morphine, but lack the undesirable sideeffects of agents hitherto employed for this purpose.
