<p>PURPOSE:To improve an audience rating of a program presented by a base station with simple construction. CONSTITUTION:A CATV center signal processing part 4 detects the presence or absence of a scramble signal Ks from a broadcasting signal from a base station 3 via still satellite 1. In the presence of the scramble signal Ks, the CATV center signal processing part 4 scrambles a television program to be transmitted to a transmission path 13. In the absence of the scramble signal, transmission is performed without scrambling the television program to be transmitted to the transmission path 13. Accordingly, based on the presence or absence of the scramble signal Ks from the base station 3 to be obtained through the still satellite 1, the CATV center side controls the application of the scramble. Thus, the base station 3 can broadcast commercial messages and a subscriber can watch them free of charge.</p> |
