PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient optical isolation regardless of approach of an optical fiber for miniaturization. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber array 10 has 6 multimode fibers 11 adjacently arranged so that centers of cores 11B are arranged at regular intervals. A light emitting diode array 12 consists of light emitting diodes which are arranged at the same regular intervals as centers of cores 11b of the optical fiber array 10, and this array 12 is mounted on a submount 13. A lens array 14 consists of plural lenses 14A arranged at the same regular intervals of light emitting diodes of the light emitting diode array 12. A light shielding plate 15 is arranged on the light incidence end face side of multimode fibers 11 and is provided with through holes 16 having a prescribed radius. These through holes 16 are so arranged that their centers coincide with axes of cores 11B of multimode fibers 11. |
