PURPOSE:To surely prevent lubricant from leaking from a breather by providing the projected section in the inner circumference between a ring gear and a breather, which is extended from a differential carrier to the neighborhood of the outer circumferential surface of a differential housing while a covering place is formed at the breather side. CONSTITUTION:In a differential gear (final gear) 2 to be mounted onto a vehicle, a differential cover 6 is fitted on a differential carrier 4. And a drive shaft 8 is pivotally mounted on the differential gear 4, in addition, a drive pinion 12 and a ring gear 14 are connected to the drive shaft 8. Furthermore, a breather is provided for the differential. carrier 4 in order to communicate the inside with the outside, while inner pressure is prevented from being increased. In this case, in order to prevent lubricant raked up by the ring gear 14 from flowing out, the projected section 46 is provided, which is extended from the differential carrier 4 to the neighborhood of the outer circumferential surface of a differential housing 16 while a covering space 44 is formed at the breather side, in the inner surface of the differential carrier 4 between the ring gear 14 and the breather. |
