PURPOSE:To make sure easily of an emulation being currently set without confirming by printing actually and obtain excellent operability. CONSTITUTION:The present invention is applicable to various emulations. Various set values of image formation condition relating to image formation are stored in an E<2>PROM 99. One of the various emulations is designated by a control panel 100. The name of the designated emulation is displayed on a liquid crystal display of the control panel 100. The various set values of the image formation condition relating to the image formation corresponding to the designated emulation are read out from the E<2>PROM 99. A predetermined image is formed by the various set values of the read out image formation condition.
