PURPOSE: To improve the separation of the steam of a boiling water reactor utilizing natural circulation. CONSTITUTION: The gas liquid separator comprises a body 14, an inlet 42, an outlet 44, a plurality of isolated pick-off rings 18, 20, 22 having curved shapes to direct the flow to circulating flow discharge passages 26, 34, 38, and a turning unit 4 of a twisted strip positioned along the axis of the body after the initial pickoff ring and positioned so as not to affect the entire width of the body. A small expansion angle is formed between the ring and the vertex of the separate body.
