PURPOSE:To suppress variation in the amount of toner at the time of generating an alarm which indicates toner near-empty and at the time of generating an alarm which indicates toner empty even when the output characteristic of a toner sensor is dispersed and simultaneously to prevent the time from the toner near-empty to the toner empty from being shortened. CONSTITUTION:A toner empty detection voltage Eemp (Eemp') is set in a signal processing part 15 at every toner sensor based on the output characteristics A-D of the toner sensor 4c. The signal processing part 15 detects toner empty based on a toner sensor output voltage Es and the toner empty detection voltage Eemp (Eemp') and generates the alarm EAL. Similarly, a toner near-empty detection voltage Enep (Enep') is set at every toner sensor based on the output characteristics. Toner near-empty is detected based on the toner sensor output voltage Es and the toner near-empty detection voltage Enep (Enep'), and the alarm NAL is generated. |
