摘要 PURPOSE:To get a light emitting diode array wherein luminous intensity distribution with a large width of illumination can be gotten while using a symmetrical concave lens by providing a layer, which reduces the light passing through the incident face part or the emission part, at least on either the incident face part or the emission part of the concave lens being directed to the manuscript face. CONSTITUTION:When a light emitting diode array 11 operates according to the start of the rear operation of a facsimile, the light emitted from each light emitting diode 11 is condensed by convex lens 15 and is applied to the face of the manuscript 10a being conveyed along the conveyance path, from obliquely below the conveyance path. At this time, some of the light being applied to the manuscript face 10a, passing through the incident face 16 and the emission face 18 directed to the manuscript face 10a is dimmed with a dimming face 17. The light distribution part being projecting partially and directed to the manuscript face is corrected into flat shape. That is, the luminous intensity distribution of the light emitting diode array 11 changes into the one with a large width of illumination. Accordingly, the light of the light emitting diode array 11 can be applied to the manuscript face 10a with a larger width of illumination.
