PURPOSE: To enable the always constant maintenance of the abrasion state of a grinding tool with a web-shaped textile flat article to be ground without relating to the kind, elongation characteristics and tension of the flat article and to the state of the grinding tool, by automatically changing a coating angle with an operation member in relation to a frictional force acting on the flat article, wherein the operation member is joined to a coating roller. CONSTITUTION: In this method for continuously grinding a web-shaped textile flat article, a guide roller 4 which is brought into contact with an at least grinding tool 1, such as a grinding drum coated with a grinding material, by receiving a longitudinal tension and gives effects to the coating angleαof the flat article 3, is disposed.
