PURPOSE: To provide an anchoring device which is forcibly driven into an aperture formed in a body made of concrete, stone or the like and incorporating a cylindrical wall. CONSTITUTION: An anchoring device 10 has a head 12 and a shank 14 integrally incorporated with the head. The shank has a spring characteristic and is composed of a center part 20, a distal end part 22 a transfer part 24 coupled to the center part 20 through the intermediary of a center curved part 26 and to the distal end part through a distal end curved part 28. These parts become substantially straight when stress is released. The shank part 14 is substantially uniform and has a substantially circular cross-sectional shape, except a curved part, and has a smaller diameter in the curved part so that the shank is curved preferentially in the curved part. The center part and the distal end part has a length which is at least twice as long as the diameter thereof. The transfer part 24 has an axial length which is substantially equal to the diameter thereof. Each of these parts serve as a lever arm pressing the curved part against the cylindrical wall when the shank is driven into the aperture.
