RESIN COTTON AND POLYMER EMULSION TO BE USED THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To obtain a resin cotton having excellent fiber-bonding force and moderate hardness by preparing a specific polymer emulsion having a heterogeneous core/shell structure and specific glass transition points of the core and the shell and applying the polymer emulsion to e.g. a wool web. CONSTITUTION:A polymer having a heterogeneous core/shell structure consisting of a core layer made of a polymer having a glass transition point of -50 to +6 deg.C and a shell layer made of a polymer having a glass transition point of 5 to 60 deg.C is emulsified and applied e.g. to a wool web. The treated web is dried and heat-treated to obtain a resin cotton having excellent fiber-bonding force and moderate hardness. The cotton is suitable as wadding for beddings and clothes.
