<p>PURPOSE:To perform the renovation at the end face of a filter favorably by positioning the exhaust gas inflow side of a filter upward to the running road face of an automobile than the outflow side, in an object which heats and renovates the filter, making use of microwave energy. CONSTITUTION:If a filter 18 clogs and the filter is tetected having reached the renovation timing, exhaust gas is exhausted to the air through a valve pipe 25 by controlling bypasses 26 and 27. Moreover, by operating a microwave generating means 19 and radiating the generated microwaves to the heating chamber 17 through a waveguide tube 20, the particulates collected at the end face of the filter 18 are heated and at the same time, the air is supplied form an air supply means 21, whereby particulates are burnt. And at this time, by positioning the exhaust gas inflow side of the filter 18 upward to the running road face than the outflow side, the combustion heat is conducted to the end face of the filter by an rising air current, whereby the renovation of the part concerned can be performed effectively.</p> |
