PURPOSE:To provide the on-vehicle map display device which makes an accurate congested road display by making it clear whether a road with its congestion state is monitored or not. CONSTITUTION:The on-vehicle map display device which displays a the road map of the periphery of the current position of a vehicle and a congested section of the road on a display means 1 according to congestion information on the road, whose congested state is monitored, which is obtained by a communication with the vehicle on the road is provided with a display mode selecting means 3 which selects a 1st display mode wherein the road map of the periphery of the current position of the vehicle is displayed or a 2nd display mode for displaying only the road map wherein the congestion state of the periphery of the current position of the vehicle is monitored and a display control means 7 which displays the road map corresponding to the display mode selected by the display mode selecting means 3 on a display means 1, thereby securely showing information on an uncongested road to the driver. |
