An overload protection arrangement for a measurement element acted upon by an external pressure piece contains a compressed spring packet (12) between the pressure piece (3) and measurement element (2). The measurement force acting on the pressure piece is normally less than the bias force of the spring packet which is less than the max. permissable force for the measurement element. The spring packet consists of at least one helical or plate spring (15) with a bolt (13) passed axially through it and clamped between a pressure plate (11) and a collar (14) on the bolt by a nut screwed onto the bolt. USE/ADVANTAGE - Measurement element is protected against damage by overload yet measurement forces are transferred without measurement errors.
