The duct element has a wall (6) of sheet metal, with a connecting edge (5) for circumferential closing of the wall via chamfered edge strips (7), and with end flanges (9) for connection to an adjacent element. The edge strips and end flanges are located on the same side of the wall. The edge strips have angled stabilising strips (8) and are mechanically connected at the connecting edge. The end flanges are formed integral with, and of the same material as, the duct wall, and have an angled stabilising strip (11), next to the connecting face (10). The joint (23) in the corner of the end flange is closed by an extra end piece (24).
