PURPOSE:To obtain fresh water (ultra-pure water) by noticing that a b. p. falls on dropping of the atm. pressure, heating the sea water or polluted water with a solar heat absorbing plate or electric heating plate to accelerate the generation of steam as the b.p. falls rapidly near the vacuum, sucking the steam with a vacuum pump, cooling the steam with a cooler and passing the water through an ion exchange resin in order to remove impurities. CONSTITUTION:The water is first sucked up by a water feed pump 1 and the sea water or polluted water deaerated by a deaerator 2 is put into a cylinder evacuated nearly to the vacuum. The water is then heated by the solar heat absorbing plate 3 or the electric heating plate 8, by which the temp. is raised. Since the b.p. is low, the water can instantaneously be evaporated. The generated steam is sucked by a vacuum pump 4 and is accumulated in a steam accumulator 5. The steam is cooled with the cooler 6. The fresh water (ultra-pure water) is obtd. if the impurities intruded into the water are removed by the ion exchange resin. |
