摘要 |
Arrangement for extinguishing oil fires at boreholes or pipelines has a bell-like jacket (1) open at the bottom and leading into a chimney-stack at the top. There are a number of nozzles for supplying high-pressure water and further nozzles for inert gas, pref. CO2 or nitrogen, inside the jacket and chimney. A number of variants are claimed, including various means of transporting the arrangement; vibrators (16) on the jacket; ballasting the arrangement by water in hollow wheels or rollers, or by other means; means of lifting and lowering the jacket; and a laser device for the orientation of the jacket over the fire. USE/ADVANTAGE - Effective extinguishing of fires at boreholes, pipelines, and anywhere else where there is a fire at an oil outflow, is provided at a relatively low cost of equipment. Water, e.g. at 1000 bars and up to 600 l/min., can be applied in a concentrated mist, and inert gas can be applied at the same time.
