Self-centring arrangement for a machine used for changing a tyre on a motor vehicle wheel having a horizontal disc (1) a vertical shaft (4) and a number of equidistant radial slots (11) for the displacement of a corresponding number of slides (10) the heads (11) of which clamp the wheel rim. A compressed air unit is incorporated coaxially with the shaft and consists of a piston (12) and a slidingly mounted cylinder (13) which is coupled to each slide by a hinged lever lifting system (131,132,16).
