The hook (4) can be released from the enclosing wire loop, when a sufficiently strong joint has been formed. the hook is typically hinged on a spindle (5) and is held by a locking mechanism (6,7) in the normal position, from which a catch (13), freed by contraction of the wire loop, releases it.
