PURPOSE:To obtain an angular lithium secondary battery of high energy density easily assembled by folding a plate group, in which a negative plate is inserted through a separator between two-folded positive plates, alternately in a fixed width to constitute an electrode. CONSTITUTION:A positive plate 1, applying a positive electrode active material 1a, is two-folded opposint the material 1a to each other in one surface of a collecting base material 1b consisting of band-shaped metal foil, and a negative plate 2 is inserted through separators 3 between the two-folded positive plates to form a band-shaped plate group 7. This group 7 is alternately folded by a fixed width to obtain an angular electrode structure. In this structure, a similar method to a conventional battery can be used for a method of manufacturing the positive and negative electrodes 1, 2 and a method of connecting lead terminals 1c, 2a, also technique of folding the plate group 7 is facilitated, and since the negative electrode is interposed in the positive electrode active material, a lithium secondary battery of good efficiency can be obtained. |
