HIGH PRESSURE DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE AND LIGHTING FIXTURE

PURPOSE:To provide a lighting fixture with a general ballast usable by preventing bulb bursting and arc bending of a short arc type high pressure discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:A commercial AC power supply E is connected between the center and one end of a leakage flux choke coil type ballast L. A short arc type high pressure discharge lamp HID of single or double tube such as a short arc-metal halide lamp is connected between the one end and the other end of the choke coil type ballast L through a power factor improving capacitor C. The chock coil type ballast L performs boosting and also having a function as current limiting impedance. The short arc type high pressure discharge lamp HID is provided with a 30 to 35mm interpole distance, 2kW rated lamp power, 120V rated lamp voltage and a 17A rated current.
