The injection device proposed comprises a housing (11, 21) designed to hold the liquid to be injected. Fitted in this housing is a plunger (29, 38) which can be moved longitudinally. When injecting, the plunger is displaced between an active position and an inactive position, thus pushing the liquid (13) out of the housing. A control member (23) is fitted, by means of which the effective length of the plunger (29, 38) can be altered. In the inactive position, the plunger-length adjustment mechanism using the control member (23) is not activated, and hence adjustment of the dose is not possible in this position. Operator errors are therefore avoided.
