摘要 PURPOSE:To simultaneously perform the positive/negative operation of vector matrix operation in neural network operation as optical operation. CONSTITUTION:A space modulating element 9 where a stimulable luminescent material is applied on a substrate is uniformly irradiated with light having a wavelength lambda1 from a light source 1 to set level 0 of coupling strength, and a positive element and a negative element of coupling strength are written by light having the wavelength lambda1 and light having a wavelength lambda2 from a light source 2 to store a coupling strength matrix in the spatial modulation element 9. A pattern of an input information vector to be subjected to vector matrix operation with coupling strength is set as the switching pattern of shutter elements of a shutter array 6, and the pattern of the input information vector is thrown to the spatial modulation element 9 by the light from the light source 2, and the light having a wavelength lambda3 from the spatial modulation element 9 is received as a vector pattern by a photodetector array 11, and threshold processing is performed in a threshold processing circuit 12.
