PURPOSE:To maintain safety for a human body by a method wherein the leak of microwave front a microwave resonator is reduced in a gas laser oscillator having a microwave resonator Where a laser media is excited by microwave electric power. CONSTITUTION:In an optical resonator which has a microwave resonator and in which a rear mirror 6 and an output mirror 7 are arranged on the front and rear of the discharge tube 4, a shield cover 8 is arranged so that the rear mirror 6 and the output mirror 7 are covered from a copper plate 2 consisting a part of the microwave resonator. A beam opening 9 where the length around the opening will be less than 1/4 of the wavelength of the microwave is provided at the position on the shield cover 8 where the optical axes of the shield cover 8 and the resonator cross. After the curvature of the output mirror 7 is adjusted to take out the laser light 11 by setting the focal point of the laser light 11 that is fed from the optical resonator near the beam opening 9, the laser light 11 is made about parallel by using a beam diameter correction lens 10 to take it out from the laser oscillator. |
