<p>A fabric made of synthetic yarn for the gas-discharging part of an airbag is described. The synthetic yarn consists of a synthetic, high-strength multi-filament yarn with a filament titre of less than 4 dtex and a yarn titre in the range from 250 to 550 dtex. The fabric itself has a crêpe or modified barleycorn weave. In contrast to the conventional polyamide fabrics, it is uncoated and is preferably prepared by weaving unsized yarns. Calendering of the fabric is unnecessary. As has been shown, in spite of the lack of coating this fabric made of fine capillary high-strength polyester filament yarn fulfils the demands to be made of an airbag fabric, such as optimally adjustable air permeability, low fabric weight and low fabric thickness and also high fabric strength.</p> |
