THERMAL HEAD AND ITS MANUFACTURE

摘要

PURPOSE:To enable fast and precise adjustment of resistance value of a heat generation resistor by laser trimming when adjusting a resistance value of a thermal head uniformly by laser trimming. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of separate electrodes 5, a common electrode 4 arranged corresponding to an end part thereof and a heat generation resistor 3 for connecting the separate electrode 5 and the common electrode 4 are formed on a surface of an insulating substrate 2. After a resistance value of the heat generation resistor 3 attains a range close to a target resistance value Ro, laser beam whose intensity is smaller than before is used when a slit for resistance value adjustment is formed in the heat generation resistor 3 by irradiating laser beam in case a resistance value Ri of each heat generation resistor 3 is smaller than the target resistance value Ro.
