A multirow bearing assembly for the roll neck of a working rolling mill in which the bearing is composed of rolling elements (13) between outer and inner race members (14, 15) in which the inner race members are positioned in axial endwise abutment and are formed with undercut counterbore formations (18) facing the roll neck (11). The bearing assembly includes seals (20) operative in the counterbore formations to prevent water and contaminants from entering between the abutting faces of the inner race members (15). In addition, there are provided one or more spring devices (21) operating in conjunction with elements (22) of the seals to adjust the effect of the wear on the seal in the event that water and contaminants cause wear on the seals.
