A selector shaft for the manual preselection and changing of transmission gears is constructed in two parts; the two parts of the shaft are connected to one another by an oscillation-damping clutch coupling. The clutch coupling is accommodated in a damping body which in the longitudinal direction of the selector shaft is designed to be softly sprung over a short travel distance, however with subsequently stronger spring progression, but torsionally very rigid in the direction of rotation of the selector shaft. ……
