In order to extract caseless cartridges (20) from a cartridge chamber of a hand firearm, the breech block (2) has an extractor (5) engaging in a peripheral groove (23) of the propellant charge unit (22) of the cartridge (29). There is a cartridge ejection aperture (6) in the breech housing (1) on the return path of the cartridge with, opposite it, an extraction limiting component (7) spring-loaded towards the breech axis (4) having a blocking surface (9) bearing on a second radial engagement surface (24) of the cartridge (20). The side of the extractor (5) engaging with the propellant charge unit (22), after the ejection limiting component (7) has come to bear on the second engagement surface (24), forms a rocker bearing so that, as it is withdrawn further, the cartridge is tipped or ejected through the cartridge ejection aperture (6). |
