Providing a supply of adhesive (11) inside the plate and directly connected to the upper layer of molten adhesive in the drum (4) being emptied allows drums to be automatically replaced without cutting the supply to the guns. The supply chamber (11) is closed at the bottom by a pump valve (12). A follower disc (13) adapts to changes in the volume of adhesive, and a header tank (17) helps ensure constant movement of the adhesive. This technology provides a highly compact active assembly protecting the adhesive in its minimal melt phase from any contact with the atmosphere and preventing carbonization. Said method is designed in particular for packaging and component-glueing assembly lines. |
