PURPOSE:To detect the levels of molten iron and slag in a torpedo ladle car accurately when molten iron which is discharged from a blast furnace is received in torpedo car. CONSTITUTION:A pair of supporting posts 11 and 12 are arranged in the vicinities on both sides of the drum part of a torpedo ladle car 6 at a pig-iron receiving position. A transmitting-projector 13 is arranged on one supporting post 11 and a transmitting-ray detector 14 is arranged on the other supporting post so that the projector, and the detector can be freely lifted and lowered at the facing position. The transmitting rays such as gamma rays projected from the projector 13 can be accurately detected with the detector 14. Therefore, the pig iron can be received without overflow from the torpedo car. The levels of molten iron 17 and slag 18 can be identified by the lifting and lowering operations. Therefore, the quantitative ratio of the slag can be detected. |
