PURPOSE:To make a transfer control easier between two-phase excitation and one-two-phase excitation by providing signal control means for outputting a select signal for switching the excitation method and a memory in which excitation patterns corresponding to count values and select signals of a counter is written. CONSTITUTION:Respective phase coils 2 of a stepping motor are sequentially excited in accordance with the excitation pattern of a memory 8 in the order of the stepping numbers of a counter 7. In this case, the excitation pattern of the stepping motor 1 is two-phase excitation by the count value of the counter 7 and the select signal of signal control means 6, and two-phase excitation or one-two phase excitation can be selected. By doing this, the two-phase excitation and one-two phase excitation can be transferred without varying the stepping state of the counter 7 even though the start or stop is performed by either excitation method. |
