PURPOSE:To provide a platelet aggregation-suppressing drug exhibiting an excellent platelet aggregation-suppressing action and effective for preventing many vascular system diseases such as thrombosis, cardiac infarction, cerebral infarction and arterial scherosis and for preventing the relapse of these diseases. CONSTITUTION:A platelet aggregation-suppressing agent containing a 1- phenoxycarbonyl-2-pyrrolidine derivative of the formula (X is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, NO2, halogen; (n) is 0, 1, 2) as an active ingredient. The compound is an intermediate for 2-pyrrolidine derivatives useful as intelligence-enhancing drugs or itself is used as an intelligence enhancing agent, and the compound is readily produced by reacting phenol or a substituted phenol with phosgene and subsequently reacting the obtained corresponding chloroformylated (substituted)phenol with 2-pyrrolidinone or a reactive derivative thereof.
