PURPOSE:To provide the subject method for production of an optically active benzoheterocyclic compound excellent in antibacterial effect. CONSTITUTION:A method for optical resolution of a benzoheterocyclic compound characterized by optical resolution of the benzoheterocyclic compound represented by formula I for separating the objective optically active benzoheterocyclic compound expressed by formula II or its salts.
