PURPOSE:To provide the tape printing device with a JIS code converting function constiting of a sample structure and having high operability at the time of conversion of a JIS code. CONSTITUTION:At the time point when a conversion key 5a is depressed, when unconverted characters exist by four characters or more in a RAM 21b (S90: YES), and four character immediately before a cursor K all correspond to one of '0-9', 'A-F', and 'a-b' (S120: YES), a KANJI (Chinese character) conversion JIS table is retrieved (S130). When there is a candidate KANJI corresponding to the JIS code shown by the four characters, it is displayed on a liquid crystal display 13 (S150). Subsequently, when a definition key 7 is depressed (S160), the four characters are erased and the candidata KANJI is displayed in a position of the head character of four characters. |
