PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density composite material at low cost in a short production time by mixing a reinforcing fiber and matrix source material, pressure molding, hardening and sintering. CONSTITUTION:The matrix source material (A) is prepared by selecting one or more kinds from resin, pitch, carbon black, carbon powder, ceramic powder, etc. Then the reinforcing fiber (B) is prepared by selecting one or more kinds of fibers from a carbon fiber containing one or more kinds selected from short fiber, whisker, and long fiber, ceramic fiber, fiber which changes into carbon fiber by sintering, fiber which changes into ceramic fiber by sintering. Then, a desired compsn. of components (A) and (B) is determined from the remaining rate of the component (A) and the fiber content of the final product, and these components are mechanically mixed to obtain a mixture (C). Then the component (C) is introduced into a die, pressure molded, then hardened, and the hardened molded body obtd. is sintered to produce the fiber-reinforced complex material. |
