<p>PURPOSE:To provide the orthogonal transformation encoding device with simple configuration from which a valid filter effect is obtained by implementing filter processing simultaneously with orthogonal transformation encoding. CONSTITUTION:An optical image of an object caught by a lens unit 1 according to a control signal from a control circuit 8 is converted into a video electric signal by an image pickup device 2, converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 3, sent to a process circuit 4 to execute a series of process signal processing. The processed signal is divided into plural blocks at an orthogonal transformation circuit 5, orthogonal transformation processing is implemented for each block and filter processing is implemented to each frequency component after the orthogonal transformation and fed to a coding circuit 6, in which quantization and Huffman coding are implemented and the result is recorded onto a recording medium by a recording circuit 7.</p> |
