PURPOSE:To stably and uniformly laminate a toner on a developer support in two or more layers and to inhibit filming in a developing system in which a large number of fine closed electric fields are formed near the surface of the developer support. CONSTITUTION:A toner consisting essentially of a binder resin and a colorant and contg. a P-contg. electrostatic charge controlling agent is used. A large number of fine closed electric fields are formed near the surface of a developer support by allowing the surface of the support to selectively retain electric charges, a one-component developer made of the toner is fed to the support and supported on the surface of the support by the electric fields and an electrostatic latent image is converted into a visible image with the supported developer. High density and high quality images are formed over a long period of time. |
