<p>PURPOSE:To restrain heat dispersion as much as possible as a whole while securing the physical and chemical strength of a refractory lining against slag and prevent the penetration of molten metal to the deep layer of a furnace as much as possible. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulating bricks layer 15 and a refractories layer 16 are arranged inside of the metallic outer shell 14 while a refractory lining 17 is formed on the innermost surface to constitute a bath unit 12. The refractory lining 17 is constituted of dry type powdered refractories, called as dry material and not containing moisture, through so-called closest packing, however, an upper refractory lining 18, positioned at the level of molten metal, is constituted of a material containing silicon carbide and a lower refractory lining 19 is constituted of a material, having lower heat conductivity and sintered at a higher temperature than the upper refractory lining 18.</p> |
