PURPOSE:To offer the tape preparing device being small in size an light in weight for selecting plural piece of registered external characters, and also, displaying the selected external character by using a miniature bit map display in which the number of display bits is smaller than the number total display bits of external character data. CONSTITUTION:When an external character mode key is id depressed, and 'call' is selected (S310), a call selection processing is executed (S320). In this processing, one of external character selection areas is subjected to inversion display, and when a dial is rotated, an inversion part of the selection area is moved, and also, 16X15 dots of the left upper part of the external character corresponding to the inverted selection area are displayed in an external character display area. |
