PURPOSE: To enhance efficiency by providing a battery, two inverters and two induction motors, generating AC three-phase power from the inverter in the drive mode and applying AC single phase power with unity power factor to the neutral parts of two induction motors in the recharge mode. CONSTITUTION: A single DC power supply, i.e., a battery 26, is connected with two inverters 40a, 40b which supply AC three-phase power to two induction motors 12a, 12b thus forming the drive mode. In the recharge mode, single-phase power is applied to the neutral parts of the two motors 12a, 12b through an EMI filter 72 and rectified through the inverters 40a, 40b before charging the battery 26. According to the arrangement, weight of the system is reduced. |
