PURPOSE:To eliminate a feeling of stress due to application of a seat belt, by adding a sag preventing mechanism to a retractor which shall operate a tensionless mechanism only after a proper allowance is provided in the seat belt. CONSTITUTION:When a seat belt is withdrawn after a sag of the belt is wound around a retractor 1, a friction cam plate 4 is rotated counter-clockwise by frictional force of a spring 6, resulting in clockwise rotation of the second lever 5 and engagement of the first gear 3 with the second gear 22. The rotational angle of the friction cam plate 4 up to this engagement is related to an amount of sag corresponding to a gap between the belt and driver. A leaf spring 13 engages with a claw portion 4' of the friction cam plate 4 to block the reverse rotation of the friction cam plate 4. When the belt once withdrawn is rewound, a memory gear 7 is rotated counter- closkwise to stop at the original position so that a tensionless position is to be memorized. |
