The brake according to the invention comprises a movable carrying structure (31) including two end flanges (32, 33) which are fastened to each other by spacers (34). A brake disc (42) is mounted integrally with an axial hub (38) swivelling in rolling bearings (35, 36) of the end flanges (32, 33). Two series of brake pads (43, 44), stressed by jacks (rams) (47, 48), stress linings (45, 46) against the opposite faces of the disc (42). The carrying structure (31) is displaceable axially, ensuring the axial adjustment of the position of the web-carrier reel of the unrolling device. <IMAGE>
