PURPOSE: To obtain a cyan dye near a profile of properties to be required such as a rapid thermal transferability, weather resistant fastness, moisture resistance and the like by using an anthraquinone dye represented by specific chemical formula in the anthraquinone dye used for thermal transfer printing. CONSTITUTION: The anthraquinone dye represented by general formula I is used, wherein a ring A is following substituent; chlorine, bromine, hydroxyl, mercapt or the like, R<1> , R<2> are each a hydrogen, nitro, hydroxyl or the like, R<3> is one of groups represented by formulae IIa to IIf, wherein R<4> is a hydrogen, 1-20C alkyl or alkylthio, R<5> , R<3> are each a hydrogen defined by the R<4> or alkyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl, R<6> , R<8> are each R<5> or R<8> , or alkoxycarbonyl, X is a hydrogen or a cyano, and the anthraquinone dye is transferred by diffusing it from a transfer sheet. |
